About the founder, Mathilde Baillet
Mathilde Baillet is a serial entrepreneur (co-founder of Krak, the largest skate spots database & subscription box, which went through Techstars Boulder; and co-founder of Objet, an app & events at the intersection of fashion and tech). Mother of two children aged 5 and 7, with a genuine passion for conversations and a need to think from a blank page, she now wants to create these spaces for conversation, for the curious minds who wonder, just like her: how do we raise our children in the age of AI?
NewKid began in 2025, with a podcast and a newsletter at the intersection of parenting, education and technology. NewKid Days is its next chapter: a bi-annual gathering - Paris | San Francisco.
The Mission
Problem
Today, conversations about AI and children take place primarily at two levels: high-level political summits; and research reports, complex, or really (and I mean really) very long ones. Both are important, of course. But which one is truly accessible to parents? Which one has a direct impact on our reality, our daily lives?... Exactly.
Opportunities to engage in discussion on these questions are rare, yet they have never been more important. We are the adults responsible for the next generation of citizens and decision-makers. Who do we want them to become? What role should technology play in their development?

Drawing on her entrepreneurial network and the connections and partnerships she has built along the way, Mathilde is creating something that did not exist before: a gathering that is both scientifically rigorous and deeply human.
She firmly believes that we do not need to be told what to think, but to learn how to think better, together.
