I find myself saying YES when I read just the subtitle of this post "what if spending less time with our kids was the solution to drop (child + parent) anxiety?".

I often think modern parents are overthinking everything, trying to structure, decide, and help the kid do everything. Living in Hong Kong, where the "helper culture" is huge, a lot of kids don't learn basics like putting on their shoes. Someone is always there to help them.

The thing is, most people turn out to be fine, not bad people. But I can't stop thinking they can achieve so much more if they (or I should say we) have to learn & grow early on.

Not only achieving, but living their lives to their full potential, I believe. Adjacent to this, there's also a misconception that failure is bad, and thus anything that can prevent our kids from failing is made ahead of time. I think that by doing this, we are stealing opportunities for them to learn how to get up and keep going, the muscle of resilience.
